Full-Stack Software Engineer · Kansas City, MO

Kobe Jordan

CS grad from the University of Kansas, currently shipping .NET and Angular at Veterans United Home Loans.

About

I'm a full-stack software engineer who likes building practical things and figuring out why they break. I’ve worked with Angular, React, .NET, APIs, databases, and testing, but what I enjoy most is digging into real problems and getting things working the right way.

I’m still early in my career, but I’ve already had the chance to work on software that real people depend on, mentor other students learning web development, and build projects that connect frontends, backends, and data in useful ways.

Off the clock I'm usually reading, watching a new show or movie, working through my gaming backlog, or playing Basketball with my friends. I am also an avid Football fan and have been a Raiders fan my whole life, which has taught me more about patience than any production incident.

Experience

Full-Stack SWE Intern at Veterans United Home Loans

Columbia, MO

  • Diagnosed a customer-reported production bug on the insurance pipeline after disproving the initial root-cause hypothesis, isolating two co-dependent defects: a response-deserialization bug in a C# CRM client and a query-parameter mismatch in an Angular service.
  • Drove the fix from triage to product-owner handoff, writing regression tests with MSTest and Moq on the backend and test-driven Jasmine/Karma coverage on the frontend.
  • Validated changes in a live UAT environment by attaching a Visual Studio debugger over SSH to an Okteto session on a Kubernetes pod, then shipped through a Mia-Platform Docker pipeline.
  • Shipped a multi-brand compliance change in Angular, gating brand-specific content behind a brand check while preserving the consent opt-out control.

CarGoo

Cloud-based vehicle diagnostics

A frontend for real-time OBD-II vehicle diagnostics with AI-generated trouble-code reports. I led the frontend: dashboards and visualizations that turn raw automotive data into something a non-mechanic can read, connected to a Rust backend over GraphQL.

  • Real-time vehicle telemetry rendered as live dashboards and charts
  • GraphQL queries and mutations against a Rust backend, including dynamic admin controls
  • AI-generated DTC reports that explain fault codes in plain language
